Thermal Oxidizers - Gaseous/Non-Aqueous Liquids

Installing its first flame based oxidation system in 1952, Selas Fluid has installed over 500 units. These custom engineered systems provide the high combustion efficiencies required to meet today's stringent emission requirements and, where desired, recover waste heat and/or valuable by-products. With over 50 years of experience, we have designed and supplied systems for all major industrial sectors as well as highly sensitive military applications.

Selas Fluid's flame based T-Thermal thermal oxidizers have disposed of every kind of organic gaseous and liquid wastes generated by the chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical and metals industries. Heat recovery as steam has been incorporated into many systems. By-products including concentrated acids and metallic catalyst are routinely recovered to allay plant costs.

Thermal Oxidizers - Gaseous/Non-Aqueous Liquids - The Technology

Selas Fluid applies the most efficient technology to each application. All systems are based on the high mixing generated by our own high-swirl burner. High turbulence within the swirling burner gases brings the combustible waste constituents in contact with the required combustion air assuring complete combustion. Simple upfired designs are utilized if waste constituents are basically organic compounds. The presence of halogens, sulfur and phosphorous require scrubbers or other mist removal systems, while wastes containing metals require particulate removal devices.

Selas Fluid developed the use of Submerged Combustion (Sub-X) for use in waste disposal, offering safe, reliable, rapid quenching of flue gases to minimize dioxin formation when halogenated compounds are present.
