(Blue Bell, PA) February 16, 2007 - Linde, the parent company of Selas Fluid Processing, has been awarded a turnkey project by Borouge Abu Dhabi Company to supply a grassroots ethylene plant in the United Emirates as part of a major expansion of the Borouge petrochemicals complex at Ruwais. Borouge is a joint venture between the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and Borealis. The plant will produce up to 1.4 million metric tons per year of ethylene. Work commenced in December 2006, with start up of the plant scheduled for 2010.
"Selas Fluid's scope of supply for the project consists of the engineering, procurement and fabrication of seven jumbo ethylene furnaces. The existing Borouge complex includes a 600,000 tpy ethane cracker supplied by Linde/Bechtel with ethylene furnaces designed and supplied by Selas Fluid," said Dr. Samir Serhan, President and CEO of Selas Fluid.
